We raise small herds of heritage-breed hogs - ethically and humanely raised, on pasture and forest, GMO-free feed, without antibiotics or added hormones . . . and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
Our heritage-breed hogs are known for their exceptional flavor, juicy meat, and great marbling. We partner with a local farm neighbor who breeds their Berkshire boar and Hereford mix sows to produce fabulous piglets - the best meat we have ever raised!
We raise our hogs outdoors on our pasture edges and forest where they have free range to roam, root, wallow and play. We rotate the herd every two-three weeks so that they are always on fresh land and have access to plentiful forage to supplement their GMO-free feed (no glyphosates).
Free ranging pork contains higher concentrations of beneficial fatty acids and there are no antibiotics or growth stimulators. Pork from pigs raised with sun, fresh air, lots of room to root and ramble, GMO-free feed, as well as a peaceful ending, is night-and-day different to the sad, dry, white factory-farm pork in the grocery stores.
"The best pork from the happiest pigs. The meat from their pigs has the freshest taste and is not greasy or oily. The bacon is fabulous. If you want to see what pork should taste like, get you some of this pig. " - Damien
"Made pork chops for Easter for all our friends and family that were just incredible. Had many people comment "How'd you get these so juicy? These are not dry and chalky like most pork chops" It is all about the quality of meat you start with, and Dinner Bell provides you with the best quality. " - Andrew
This is our second time getting the pastured raised hog share from Dinner Bell Farms. Not only is it the most delicious pork we have ever tasted, but we take comfort in knowing the animals were treated and fed well. We are so grateful for the hard work that John and Stephanie put into the farm in order to offer our community this amazing and ethically raised food!" - Stephanie D.
"This is our second time getting pork from Dinner Bell Farm, and the meat somehow keeps getting better! We enjoy being able to choose which cuts, and what kind of sausage we want. The chops, and brats make for super easy and quick dinners during the week. Definitely recommend!" - Andrew
"We enjoyed the small combo so much last time we purchased that this time we decided to try the large combo. The variety of cuts and flavorful sausages are delicious. From brats and chorizo to pork butt and chops. I highly recommend Dinner Bell Farm pork! " - Jane
"I just wanted to let you and John know how great the bacon was this morning. It was the best I ever had. We are looking forward to enjoying all of the pork! Thank you again." - The Lyons Family

DELIVERY CHOICES:
Buying bulk pork can be confusing.
Is the per pound price I'm paying the "hanging weight" (and what does that mean?!) or the actual weight of the meat cuts?
Many farms sell by "hanging weight" which is standard practice and makes sense when you are talking about a whole animal.
It is, though, hard for a consumer to understand.
The "hanging weight" includes the actual meat cuts plus
the processing loss, fat, bones, and organs.
So, a Hanging Weight price of $9.50/lb. translates to
~ $14.25/lb. final meat cuts.
We sell using the actual weight of each meat cut you receive.
And we don't charge you at all for the optional fat, organs, and bones.
This makes it easier for you to see what you are receiving
and how much you are paying.
We work hard to be totally transparent about what cuts you will receive and the pricing. You pay per pound only for the final meat you take home.
We do our very best to keep prices reasonable and
we believe that food that is good for you, good for the animal,
and good for the land is worth every penny.
Our expenses have gone up significantly this year in every way:
Your purchase is supporting each link in the chain of local food
and community businesses!
And your purchase is preserving farmland in our community and practices which are good for you, good for the animals, and good for the Earth.
